Tanzania Mainland champions Yanga take to the field today at KMC Complex, where they will host Pamba Jiji in the continuation of the NBC Premier League, in a fourth-round encounter.
Having handed out heavy defeats in their previous matches, the Wananchi will take to the KMC Complex pitch with the same objective: to continue their winning run and return to the top of the league table.
However, they face a Pamba Jiji side coached by Francis Baraza, a tactician renowned for his ability to build teams that defend resolutely.
Despite that defensive strength, Pamba Jiji will need to be at their very best to contain Yanga, who have scored 11 goals in their last three matches.
Yanga head coach Manqoba Mngqithi has built an attacking-minded team that plays on the front foot throughout matches, giving opponents little room to breathe.
So far, Yanga are the leagueβs leading scorers this season, with Peter Shalulile, Maxi Nzengeli, Albert Kangwanda and Chadrack Boka leading the scoring charts for the club, with each player having found the net twice.
Yanga fans could also witness the return of striker Suleiman Mwalimu today, as he is now available for selection after completing all of his registration formalities.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 9:00 p.m. A victory would send Yanga back to the top of the league standings.
