Yanga SC fans can now begin counting down the days until striker Clement Mzize returns to action after spending an extended period on the sidelines with a knee injury.
Mzize has been out for almost the entire season while recovering from the injury. However, the forward has now recovered and started training with the team, raising hopes of his return to the squad.
Mzize and defender Dickson Job are the only Yanga players who have been sidelined since the start of the season due to injuries.
Yanga Head of Information and Communications Ali Kamwe said Mzize continues to make good progress and could return to action earlier than initially expected.
According to Kamwe, the initial assessment indicated that Mzize and Job were expected to return at the beginning of October. However, the positive progress they are making on the training ground could bring their returns forward.
Mzize, who has established himself as one of the trusted players in the Yanga squad, is expected to provide an additional boost to the team's attack once he is ready to return to competitive action.
