Angolan club Petro Atletico are expected to announce the signing of former Yanga striker Laurindo Aurelio ‘Depu’ at any time.
Depu, who spent just six months with Yanga, travelled to Angola yesterday to complete his transfer.
Yanga are reportedly set to receive around TSh 1.3 billion from the sale of the striker, who scored 14 goals for the Wananchi during his short spell at the club.
Yanga were compelled to sell Depu after strengthening their attacking options with the signings of Cheick Ibrahima Toure, Peter Shalulile and Suleiman Mwalimu.
The striker’s sale could also provide Yanga with additional financial strength to further improve their squad. Reports indicate that the Wananchi have not yet closed the book on their transfer business, with further deals potentially being completed before the transfer window closes on Saturday at 11:59 p.m.
