Yanga SC are in the final stages of parting ways with striker Laurindo Aurelio, popularly known as "Depu," following the club's recent transfer activity.
The Tanzania Mainland Premier League champions have decided to move on from Depu after completing the signings of foreign strikers Cheikh Ibrahima Toure and Peter Shalulile.
Earlier today, Yanga also unveiled Ivorian centre-back Oumar Comara, a signing that takes the club's total number of foreign players to 13.
Petro Atlético lead the race for Depu
Yanga have given Depu permission to hold talks with Angolan side Petro Atlético, which has expressed strong interest in signing the striker.
If personal terms are agreed, Yanga are expected to allow the forward to rejoin his former club in a permanent transfer. Sources indicate that Petro Atlético are prepared to pay a transfer fee that could reach TSh 1.3 billion.
Reports also suggest that Moroccan club AS FAR, coached by former Yanga head coach Pedro Gonçalves, has made enquiries about the striker's availability.
Gonçalves was instrumental in bringing Depu to the Tanzanian champions during the mid-season transfer window.
