Yanga SC has made changes to its Board of Trustees after Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba stepped down from his position due to his national responsibilities as the Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania.
Speaking during Yanga's General Election Meeting, club president Engineer Hersi Said said Dr. Nchemba voluntarily submitted his resignation from the Board of Trustees to allow him to fully focus on his duties in government.
Hersi explained that Yanga's Executive Committee received and reviewed the request before deciding to appoint Ridhiwani Kikwete to fill the vacant position.
"After receiving Dr. Mwigulu's request, the Executive Committee met to discuss the matter and ultimately appointed Hon. Ridhiwani Kikwete as the new member of the Board of Trustees," Hersi said.
Dr. Nchemba had been one of the trustees responsible for providing strategic guidance and oversight to the club. His departure follows an increase in his national responsibilities, prompting him to step aside and allow the board to continue its work with new leadership.
With this appointment, Ridhiwani Kikwete joins the other members of Yanga's Board of Trustees in overseeing the club's long-term interests.
The new Yanga Board of Trustees is as follows:
Chairman:
Hon. George Mkuchika
Members:
1. Fatma Karume
2. Hon. Ridhiwani Kikwete
3. Hon. Anthony Peter Mavunde
4. Hon. Abbas Tarimba
