Yanga Information and Communications Manager Ali Kamwe has announced that by July 20, when the club's squad reports for pre-season camp, the club will have confirmed the venue for the 2026 Wananchi Week celebrations.
With Benjamin Mkapa Stadium currently closed for renovation, the club has faced the challenge of finding a suitable large venue to host the annual event.
Kamwe also revealed that Yanga have received invitations from several countries interested in hosting this year's celebrations.
"We are still conducting our assessment, but by July 20 we will have reached a decision," Kamwe said.
"We all know that Benjamin Mkapa Stadium is closed because of the ongoing renovations, so we have to decide where to hold our celebration."
"We have received invitations from several countries that would like to host our event. Within the next few days, we will have an answer."
"As for the launch event, Geita Region—specifically Katoro—has been proposed, but we are still receiving opinions," he added.
The main Wananchi Week celebrations are expected to take place in early August.
