Attacking midfielder Stephane Aziz Ki has given Young Africans SC (Yanga) supporters fresh hope of a return to the club after making an appearance at the Wape Tabasamu charity event in Morogoro earlier this week.
Aziz Ki took part in the community outreach event organized by Yanga players Kibwana Shomari, Dickson Job, and Aboutwalib Mshery, representing Kibwana's team during the exhibition match.
Speaking briefly to reporters after the game, Aziz Ki was asked about the ongoing speculation linking him with a return to Yanga. He replied simply, "Inshallah," suggesting that a move back to the club is possible if God wills.
Reports indicate that Yanga have already reached a personal agreement with Aziz Ki over a return to the Tanzanian champions, while the midfielder has informed his current club, Al Ittihad, of his intention to leave.
However, there are still contractual matters that Aziz Ki and Al Ittihad must resolve before Yanga can finalize the transfer.
Al Ittihad are reportedly under significant pressure as several foreign players have chosen to leave the club amid concerns over the deteriorating security situation in the country.
Former head coach Rulani Mokwena, who joined the club in January, has also terminated his contract and moved to Egyptian side Pyramids FC.
According to the reports, Aziz Ki has already decided not to return to Al Ittihad, making a move back to Yanga appear to be only a matter of time.
