Yanga SC President Engineer Hersi Said has said that one of the biggest promises remaining under his leadership is to ensure the construction of the club's stadium at Twiga and Jangwani in Dar es Salaam begins and is completed.
Hersi made the remarks on July 4, 2026, during celebrations marking Yanga's fifth consecutive Tanzania Mainland Premier League title.
Speaking at the club's headquarters in Jangwani, Hersi said supporters and club members have continued to remind him of his pledge to build a modern stadium, adding that the leadership is determined to move the project into the implementation phase.
"Next season's victory parade will be held somewhere other than Jangwani because, by that time, construction of our stadium will already be underway," Hersi said.
He explained that the final major step is completing the process of transferring ownership of the land allocated by the government from the club's membership structure to a special-purpose company that will oversee the implementation of the stadium project.
According to Hersi, this restructuring will enable the club to manage investment activities more efficiently and accelerate the execution of the stadium project, which has long been one of the most anticipated developments among Yanga members and supporters.
Speaking about the squad, Hersi admitted the club faced some challenges this season after several new signings failed to meet expectations.
However, he said Yanga plan to make significant signings during the current transfer window to ensure the team returns even stronger next season and regains every trophy it missed this year.
Meanwhile, Yanga sponsor GSM expressed confidence that the club's success will continue, telling fans over a phone call during the championship celebrations at Jangwani, "Yanga are champions—and next year, we'll be champions again."
