Yanga SC Head of Information and Communications, Ali Kamwe, has stated that striker Prince Dube, who has joined Hardrock FC in Zimbabwe, was not influenced by money in his decision to leave the club.
Kamwe said Yanga was ready to keep the striker, but Dube himself requested to return home to continue playing football in his native Zimbabwe.
The spokesperson of the 2025/26 Tanzanian Mainland Premier League champions added that Dube had received lucrative offers from clubs in Libya, South Africa, and Morocco, but still chose to return home.
"Dube personally decided to return to Zimbabwe. Yanga had already started the process of renewing his contract for a long time," Kamwe said.
"Yanga was ready to keep him, but Dube had his own plans, which were that he wanted to return and play football back home."
"His departure was not driven by money because he had big offers from Libya with very high pay, South Africa, and even Morocco’s Raja Casablanca, coached by Nabi, but he rejected them all and chose to go back home."
"With that decision, the management had no other option because the player had already made up his mind to return home," he added.
Dube was officially unveiled by Hardrock FC in Zimbabwe yesterday after completing his contract with Yanga SC.
