JKT Tanzania have issued an apology following the incident in which their player, Hassan Wahabi, seriously injured Yanga attacking midfielder Pacome Zouzoua during their NBC Premier League match.
In a statement released earlier today, the club said the challenge was not intentional and expressed deep regret over the incident.
"The management of JKT Tanzania FC is deeply saddened by the injury suffered by Yanga SC player Pacome Zouzoua following a challenge by our player, Hassan Wahabi, while both were contesting for the ball during the NBC Tanzania Mainland Premier League match between JKT Tanzania FC and Yanga SC, played at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium on June 30, 2025.
On behalf of our player, Hassan Wahabi, the club sincerely apologizes for the incident, which was not intentional. The challenge caused serious pain to Pacome Zouzoua and has also deeply affected our player, Wahabi, who is distressed by the injury Zouzoua suffered—an outcome he neither intended nor expected.
Furthermore, the management of JKT Tanzania FC extends its heartfelt sympathies to Zouzoua. We pray to Almighty God for his speedy recovery and hope he returns to full fitness and continues playing at the high standard he has consistently shown."
