Reports continue to intensify linking Yanga SC with former Raja Casablanca head coach Fadlu Davids, as the club reportedly explores the possibility of appointing him as their new head coach.
Sources indicate that Yanga management has officially opened talks with Fadlu, who most recently managed Simba SC in Tanzania. The South African coach has built a strong reputation across several competitive clubs, earning recognition for his tactical discipline and ability to develop teams capable of performing well in continental competitions.
In Tanzania, he is best remembered for his time with Simba SC, where he played a key role in shaping a team that reached the CAF Confederation Cup final.
Fadlu recently parted ways with Raja Casablanca by mutual consent following a run of disappointing results, including two consecutive league defeats that ended the club’s hopes of winning the Moroccan title.
According to multiple reports, Yanga have been monitoring the coach for some time, believing his football philosophy could help the club maintain domestic dominance while improving their competitiveness in CAF competitions.
However, discussions are still at an early stage, with no formal agreement reached. Both parties are continuing to negotiate terms before any final decision is made.
If completed, the move would be one of the most significant coaching developments in Tanzanian football history. Given the intense rivalry between Yanga and Simba, it remains rare for a coach to manage both clubs, even at different times.
History shows that only a few individuals have crossed this divide. The late Syllersaid Mziray is remembered as one of the few local coaches to have managed both sides, while former CEO Senzo Mbartha also worked with both clubs in administrative roles.
