Yanga SC sponsor and benefactor Gharib Said Mohamed, popularly known as "GSM," was in attendance at KMC Complex on Saturday as Yanga defeated TRA United 3-0 to move within touching distance of a fifth consecutive Mainland Premier League title.
GSM was seated in the VIP section alongside Yanga President Eng. Hersi Said, Vice President Arafat Haji, and Tanzania's Minister of Minerals, Hon. Anthony Mavunde, who also serves as a member of the club's Board of Trustees. Mavunde was one of the key figures behind the "Kubwaya Kuliko" campaign, which paved the way for GSM's sponsorship of the club.
On Tuesday, Yanga will wrap up their league campaign against JKT Tanzania at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 10:00 p.m.
GSM is expected to once again be present to support the team as they bid to secure another league championship.
Known for letting the team's performances speak louder than words, GSM has consistently stood by a simple message: "Yanga are champions." The club's supporters will be hoping that prediction becomes reality once again on Tuesday night.
