Yanga SC Media and Communications Manager Ali Kamwe has confirmed that attacking midfielder Pacome Zouzoua picked up an injury during their previous 3-0 victory over Azam FC and is expected to undergo further medical tests to determine the extent of the injury.
Kamwe said Pacome sustained the injury during the match, which Yanga won 3-0, and questioned why an early foul by Lusajo Mwaikenda in the first half did not attract much discussion.
"Pacome was badly injured in the match against Azam FC. I am surprised there has been no debate from analysts. He was subjected to a harsh tackle but managed to continue and finish the match," he said.
"After the match, we saw him limping. He was expected to undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury," Kamwe added.
Kamwe also confirmed that right-back Yao Kouassi, known as "Jeshi," picked up a minor injury but has already received treatment and could be available for tomorrow’s match against TRA United.
Pacome scored the third goal in the match played at New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar.
This season, Pacome has been troubled by recurring injuries that have caused him to miss several key matches.
At times, the midfielder has had to play while in pain in order to help his team secure important points.
