Following their impressive 3-0 victory over Azam FC in the NBC Premier League yesterday, Yanga have reached 69 points, a total that officially guarantees their place in next season's CAF Champions League.
With only two matches remaining, Simba, who currently occupy second place, are the only team capable of matching Yanga's points tally.
Azam FC's hopes of qualifying for the CAF Champions League came to an end following the defeat, as they can now reach a maximum of only 64 points.
This means that Yanga and Simba have officially secured qualification for next season's CAF Champions League, while Azam FC and Singida Black Stars have booked their places in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The remaining task for the Wananchi is to complete their mission of defending the Premier League title for a fifth consecutive season.
Yanga will next face TRA United at KMC Complex on Saturday before concluding their league campaign against JKT Tanzania at Meja Jenerali Isamuhyo Stadium on Tuesday.
