Yanga utility midfielder Duke Abuya was named Man of the Match after delivering an outstanding performance in his side's 2-0 NBC Premier League victory over Fountain Gate at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium.
The win saw Yanga return to the top of the league standings, and Abuya played a key role in the result with an impressive display in midfield.
Starting the match as a defensive midfielder, Abuya showcased his versatility and work rate before moving into a more advanced number-eight role following the introduction of Mohamed Damaro.
The Kenyan midfielder controlled the tempo of the game, contributed defensively, and helped Yanga dominate the midfield battle throughout the encounter.
Interestingly, Abuya appears to enjoy facing Fountain Gate. In the first-round meeting between the two sides last year, he also won the Man of the Match award as Yanga recorded another 2-0 victory.
His latest performance was therefore a repeat of what he achieved against the same opponents a year earlier, once again proving his importance to Yanga's title-chasing campaign.
