Yanga players who have not been called up for international duty are currently enjoying a break following a demanding run of matches.
The squad is expected to return to training on Monday, June 1, to begin preparations for the decisive final phase of the season.
Yanga still have five challenging league matches ahead as they seek to defend the NBC Premier League title for a fifth consecutive season.
Given the current standings, the team cannot afford many mistakes if they want to secure the championship without relying on results elsewhere. The remaining 450 minutes of football could prove decisive in determining whether the title returns to Jangwani once again.
Many observers consider the matches against Azam FC, TRA United, and JKT Tanzania to be the toughest remaining fixtures. However, encounters against Mashujaa FC and Fountain Gate are also expected to present significant challenges.
The first two matches after the FIFA international break will be away from home, where Yanga will be aiming to collect maximum points before returning to Dar es Salaam for the remainder of their campaign.
Yanga are also scheduled to face Azam FC twice in quick succession. The teams will meet in the CRDB Federation Cup semi-final on June 21 before facing each other again in the NBC Premier League on June 24.
Following those encounters, Yanga will take on TRA United before concluding their league season against JKT Tanzania.
With the title race still highly competitive, there is very little room for error. Any significant slip-up in the remaining matches could provide their rivals with an opportunity to overtake them if they maintain a perfect run to the end of the season.
