Young Africans SC (Yanga) Head of Information and Communications, Ali Kamwe, has comforted the club’s fans and members following the team’s 3-2 defeat against Dodoma Jiji in the NBC Premier League match played at Airtel Stadium in Singida.
Kamwe urged Yanga supporters to accept the result as part of football and move forward, insisting that the team has only lost a match — not its goal of winning the league title.
Through his social media account, Kamwe shared the following message:
“This is now behind us, Wananchi. Everyone has a bad day at work. Prince Dube and Mwamnyeto, whom we are disappointed with today, are the same people who gave us great joy in the Derby.
It’s football. Our goal was never to finish the season unbeaten — our goal is the CHAMPIONSHIP. We slipped today, but Alhamdulillah, the title is still in our hands.
It is up to us to decide whether we lower our heads and continue criticizing our players, or carry this result with gratitude and continue fighting on the battlefield.
Let us not dance to the tune of hypocrites who always wish bad things upon us. When Yanga wins, they say the league is weak. When Yanga loses, they say the recruitment was poor.
When I stood up and said the league is difficult and should be respected whenever Yanga wins, I truly meant it because football is highly unpredictable.
There are still seven matches remaining, my people. We still have the advantage at the top of the table, and I have no doubt that if we stand together, we will do well, In Shaa Allah.
