Following the departure of coach Pedro Goncalves, reports from inside Yanga suggest that the club’s management has already begun plans to bring back former head coach Nasreddine Nabi.
Nabi managed Yanga for three seasons, during which he won two Premier League titles, the CRDB Cup, and the Community Shield, while also guiding the club to the CAF Confederation Cup final.
He is currently without a club after parting ways with South African side Kaizer Chiefs, whom he joined at the beginning of this season from Moroccan club AS FAR.
Despite leaving Yanga, Nabi has maintained a strong relationship with the club and its supporters, which is believed to be one of the reasons why the Yanga leadership is considering his return.
The plan to bring back the Tunisian coach is expected to be finalized after the end of the current season.
Coaches Abdilhamid Moalin and Robert Mabedi have been entrusted with leading the team for the remainder of the season, with their main responsibility being to help Yanga defend the Premier League and CRDB Cup titles.
Even if Yanga succeeds in reappointing Nabi, the two coaches could still remain part of the technical bench as assistant coaches.
