Mainland Tanzania champions Yanga will today take to the pitch at the New Amaan Complex to face Azam FC in the Muungano Cup semi-final.
The highly anticipated match, eagerly awaited by football fans across the country, will kick off at 2:15 PM, bringing together two teams with a strong rivalry.
Yanga are the defending champions of the competition and will enter the match aiming for victory to secure a place in the final.
However, it will not be an easy encounter, as they face an Azam FC side that sees this tournament as a key opportunity to reach the final and compete for their first title under coach Florent Ibenge.
At this stage, Azam FCβs chances of winning the Premier League appear slim, as they trail league leaders Yanga by 10 points. This makes the match even more crucial for them as an alternative route to silverware.
For Yanga, the match is also about maintaining the clubβs pride. Despite having a tough Kariakoo Derby coming up in a few days, they are determined to reach the final and defend their title before shifting focus to the derby against Simba on May 3 at Isamuhyo Stadium.
