The management of EFM and TVE has issued an apology to the Board of Trustees of Yanga following controversial content aired on April 17 during the sports program “Namba 10.” The remarks were made by analyst Wilson Oruma, popularly known as “Mzee wa Jambia.”
Speaking to the media, Head of Sports at EFM and TVE, Abbisay Stephen Jr, said that on April 20 they received a letter from Yanga’s legal representatives indicating the club’s intention to take legal action against the media outlets over alleged defamatory and inciting statements made by the analyst.
Abbisay emphasized that TVE does not support the airing of biased or unverified content that lacks balanced evidence.
“All the statements made by analyst Wilson Oruma on our social media platforms are his personal opinions and do not represent the views of our station.”
“It is wrong to use our platform in violation of established guidelines. So far, several steps have been taken, including removing all published content from various platforms and requesting the individual to issue a public apology.”
“However, Wilson John Oruma has declined to do so, maintaining that he is ready to defend himself in court,” said Abbisay.
Yanga has already filed a legal case against the analyst.
