Young Africans SC attacking midfielder Shekhan Khamis is beginning to show clear signs of maturity and readiness to take on bigger responsibilities within the squad coached by Pedro Gonçalves.
Continuing his impressive form, Shekhan stood out recently by helping Yanga reach the semifinals of the Muungano Cup, scoring one goal in a dominant 4-0 victory over Muembe Makumbi. His performance earned him the Man of the Match award, highlighting his influence in both midfield and attack.
Despite not finishing the match due to a minor injury, his contribution underlined his growing importance to the Tanzanian champions.
Now in his second season since joining Yanga, Shekhan has shown significant improvement in his game, displaying greater confidence, creativity, and the ability to influence match outcomes—qualities that have boosted the technical bench’s trust in him.
Coach Pedro Gonçalves has continued to give him more playing time this season, a clear sign of belief in his potential and his role in helping the team defend their domestic titles.
It appears to be only a matter of time before Shekhan becomes one of the key players capable of carrying Yanga forward.
