Young Africans SC (Yanga) defender Ibrahim Bacca continues to attract attention both within and outside Tanzania, with his impressive performances drawing interest from top African clubs.
Recent reports indicate that Raja Club Athletic (Raja CA) have once again approached Yanga with the intention of securing the signature of the solid center-back. This is not the first time the Moroccan giants have shown interest, highlighting how highly they rate his abilities.
During the previous transfer window, Raja signed midfielder Moussa Balla Conte on loan, with an option to make the deal permanent if he impresses. Now, their focus has shifted to Bacca, whom they believe can further strengthen their defensive line.
The move is reportedly being pushed by head coach Fadlu Davids, who previously managed Simba SC. Having a strong understanding of Tanzanian football, Davids believes Bacca has what it takes to succeed in the Moroccan league and continental competitions.
Despite the growing interest, Yanga have not shown any signs of being willing to sell the key defender, who remains under contract until 2027. However, as is often the case in modern football, a substantial offer could influence the club’s position.
Bacca joined Yanga in January 2022 from KMKM SC and has since developed into a crucial pillar of the team’s defense. Beyond club football, he is also a member of the Tanzania national team, where his performances have further boosted his international profile.
Interestingly, Bacca also serves as a soldier with KMKM, holding the rank of sergeant, and has been granted special permission to continue playing for Yanga.
