Young Africans SC have announced plans to take action against some sports analysts who they claim are spreading or publishing information intended to tarnish the reputation of the Mainland Tanzania champions.
Yanga’s Head of Media and Communications, Ali Kamwe, said the club’s leadership has already begun addressing the matter and will soon inform members about the steps to be taken.
“Regarding analysts who write or speak information aimed at tarnishing Yanga SC, the leadership is handling the issue and in a short while I will update you on the measures to be taken,” said Kamwe.
Following a strong run of form where Yanga have been defeating most of their opponents convincingly, some analysts have emerged alleging that the club’s success is not legitimate, including claims of match manipulation.
The debate has intensified on social media, especially after Yanga’s 6–0 victory over Mbeya City in a Premier League match played at KMC Complex recently.
Yanga are also planning to take some of these analysts to football authorities to substantiate their allegations.
In a separate development, Kamwe clarified that the club has not held any discussions with player Seleman Mwalimu or his parent club Wydad AC.
He also urged agents and analysts to use proper channels when seeking contracts for players without involving Yanga SC.
There have been growing rumours surrounding Mwalimu, especially after he was spotted at KMC Complex recently watching Yanga’s league match against Mbeya City.
