The Media and Communications Manager of Yanga SC, Ali Kamwe, has said that preparations for the upcoming NBC Premier League match against Mbeya City FC, scheduled for Thursday, April 16 at KMC Complex, are progressing with great caution.
Kamwe noted that the team is aware the match will not be easy, recalling their first-round encounter at Sokoine Stadium which ended in a goalless draw.
"We did not get all three points in the first match, so now we return to KMC Complex as the home team, and our aim is to perform better," he said.
"This is the second round, the league has become more competitive, and our objective has changed. It is no longer just about beating Mbeya City, but maintaining consistency to ensure we defend our title for the fifth consecutive time,"
"That is the mentality that will drive us into this match with high determination. We will play with commitment and dedication to ensure we win and maintain a strong position in the title race," said Kamwe.
Yanga SC resumed training yesterday to complete preparations for the fixture, with a victory expected to further strengthen their position at the top of the league table with a significant points gap.
