It is reported that Yanga SC have begun the process of signing Azam FC midfielder James Akaminko from Ghana, whose contract is nearing its end.
This would not be the first time Yanga attempt to sign Akaminko, who despite being close to the end of his current deal, has yet to agree to a contract extension.
During the transfer saga involving Feisal Salum’s move to Azam FC, Yanga had previously submitted an offer requesting both Akaminko and Kipre Junior, who currently plays for MC Alger.
Historically, Azam FC have been unwilling to let Akaminko leave, but this time the situation could be different as the player himself has shown willingness to move on after serving the club for four seasons.
If Yanga succeed in securing Akaminko’s signature, it is likely they will part ways permanently with midfielder Moussa Balla Conte, who is currently on loan at Raja CA.
Yanga are also expected to complete the permanent signing of local midfielder Mohamed Damaro Camara, who is currently on loan at the club from Singida BS.
