After nearly a month-long break, the Women’s Premier League (WPL) resumes today, with Yanga Princess set to face Ruangwa Queens at Azam Complex. The match is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 PM.
Yanga Princess finished the first round in second place with 30 points, just one point behind their rivals Simba Queens, who lead the table with 31 points.
The Wananchi ladies lost only one match in the first round—against Simba Queens—and now face the challenge of avoiding further dropped points in the second round to keep their hopes of winning their first-ever league title alive.
This season’s Yanga Princess side appears stronger than in previous years, raising high expectations among fans that they could finally secure the championship.
