Young Africans SC (Yanga) have stated that the recent improvements made within the squad were based on recommendations from head coach Pedro Goncalves, aimed at increasing competitiveness in the race for the Tanzania Mainland Premier League title.
Speaking about the changes, the club’s Head of Information and Communications, Ali Kamwe, said the decision was made following a professional assessment guided by the technical bench’s experience.
“The additions made were the coach Pedro’s own recommendation. He requested this based on his experience in the league, the type of opponents we face, and the nature of the playing conditions,” said Kamwe.
He added that the improvements are expected to play a significant role in pushing the team toward achieving its goal of winning the league title this season.
“These additions were made professionally. They will have a big impact in helping the team fight for the league trophy,” he emphasized.
Kamwe also made it clear that Yanga are aiming to return in top form after the short FIFA international break, as they prepare for the continuation of the league expected to resume in April.
“The league resumes in April, so it’s just a few days away. We believe after this break we will return stronger,” he explained.
The club spokesperson further noted that the upcoming match against Tanzania Prisons will be an opportunity for the team to demonstrate the impact of the recent improvements.
“With the changes made after the break, Yanga SC will return strongly. Our next match is against Tanzania Prisons, and we want to use that game to show fans that we made the right decisions to take the team to a higher level,” he said.
Yanga continue to sit at the top of the league standings, aiming to maintain their strong form in the remaining matches to achieve their season objectives.
