Despite conceding a late goal in the NBC Premier League match against Mtibwa Sugar, Yanga goalkeeper Djigui Diarra remains the leader in clean sheets.
Diarra has kept nine clean sheets so far, ahead of goalkeepers Aishi Manula (Azam FC) and Erick Johora (Mashujaa FC), who each have six.
After 90 minutes against Mtibwa Sugar, Diarra was frustrated by a controversial corner goal that was allowed by the referee, in circumstances where the Malian goalkeeper appeared to be pushed while attempting a save.
Yanga’s manager Walter Harrison had to intervene to calm Diarra, who expressed his displeasure at the referee’s decision.
When discussing Yanga’s successes over the past four seasons, Djigui Diarra’s name is always highlighted. He is a true Yanga stalwart, ready to fight for the club’s badge whenever he feels justice has not been served.
