Yanga SC Head of Information and Communications, Ali Kamwe, has urged the club’s members and fans to avoid violent behavior in stadiums, warning that such actions continue to result in penalties for the club.
Kamwe made the remarks after the TFF 72-hour committee fined Yanga TSh 10 million following incidents involving their supporters in recent matches.
"I felt it was important today to speak to our members and fans. Yesterday evening, through a statement from the League Board, we all saw the fine imposed following actions by some of our members and fans who threw bottles onto the pitch during our away match against Azam FC."
"This is the second time our club has been fined for such behavior. It is important to understand that these penalties have significant financial consequences, and if they continue, the outcome will not be good for the development of our club."
"I would like to urge all our members and fans to maintain discipline when coming to support our team at the stadium. When we are happy, let us celebrate, and when something is unsatisfactory, we can express our feelings peacefully, such as by booing, but not by throwing bottles or other dangerous objects or causing disturbances."
"Such actions have no place in our football and are not part of the culture we want to build. Let us work together to protect the image of our club and ensure that stadium environments remain safe, respectful, and welcoming for everyone," said Kamwe.
In another development, Kamwe praised fans traveling from different regions to Dodoma to support Yanga in their Premier League match against Mtibwa Sugar scheduled for tomorrow at Jamhuri Stadium.
He noted that this is the kind of support the team needs—standing by the club at all times.
"I have been very pleased with how our members and fans reacted to the results of our recent matches. Additionally, more than 50 vehicles have already left Dar es Salaam heading here to Dodoma to support our club."
"Last season, at a time like this, we lost to Azam FC and Tabora. However, I want to assure our members and fans that those difficult moments are behind us, and you will start to see the changes from tomorrow’s match against Mtibwa Sugar."
