Yanga head coach Pedro Gonçalves has stated that improving pitch quality is essential for raising the standard of football in the country.
The Portuguese coach noted that in many away matches, the playing surfaces are not of the required standard, making it difficult for players to properly execute instructions from their coaches.
"Another important factor is the quality of the pitches. There is a big difference when you play on a good surface compared to one that is in poor condition. In some matches, including the last one, both teams struggled due to the state of the pitch, which affected concentration and finishing."
"In many of our recent matches, we have been playing away under difficult conditions. A good example of our away performance was the match in Singida, where we played on a quality pitch that allowed us to express better football."
"If we want to improve the level of football, it is also important to improve the pitches. However, we must adapt to the conditions and find ways to overcome our opponents. Despite all the challenges, we remain positive."
"We are at the top of the league and believe we still have great potential to improve. Tomorrow, our goal is to create more chances, be clinical in finishing, and fight for all three points," said Gonçalves.
