Yanga Head Coach Pedro Goncalves has confirmed that preparations ahead of their CAF Champions League match against JS Kabylie are complete, expressing confidence that his players are ready to handle the pressure and secure victory.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s encounter at the New Amaan Complex, Goncalves acknowledged that it will not be an easy game, but stressed that his team is determined to fight for the win.
“JS Kabylie are a strong and quality team that has invested heavily this season in a bid to return to their history of success. We understand their strengths and weaknesses very well.”
“Kabylie are coming without pressure since they have already been eliminated from the competition, but they will still step onto the pitch aiming to show the stature and pride of their club.”
“However, this is our moment to demonstrate our quality against a tough opponent. We must play with great focus and caution, with our main objective being victory.”
“We are ready and will fulfill our responsibilities on the pitch. God willing, we will secure the important points and qualify for the next stage,” said Goncalves.
Speaking on behalf of his teammates, left-back Mohamed Hussein ‘Zimbwe Jr’ said all players are fully prepared for the match, with morale and determination at a high level.
Zimbwe Jr described it as the type of match he personally enjoys, adding that he is ready to help the team achieve a positive result and advance to the quarter-finals.
“Tomorrow’s match is the kind I personally love because it shows what type of player you are. I have prepared well and will work together with my teammates to ensure Wananchi move on to the next stage,” he said.
