Former Yanga midfielder Stephanie Aziz KI is confident the team can secure a convincing victory against JS Kabylie and put themselves in a strong position to qualify for the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.
On Sunday at 7:00 PM, Yanga will take to the pitch at the New Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar to face JS Kabylie in their final Group B match of the CAF Champions League, seeking another quarter-final appearance after falling short last season against MC Alger of Algeria.
Aziz KI, who has now joined Libya’s Ittihad club after leaving Wydad CA, said the pressure is not only on the fans but also on the club’s leadership and players, as the main objective is to qualify for the next stage rather than fall short.
He revealed that he has spoken with some Yanga players, who assured him they have prepared well and nothing will stop them from securing victory at home.
“I have spoken to some Yanga players, and they have assured me they will do everything possible to ensure the team gets the required result to qualify,” said Aziz KI.
“Yanga fans must stay calm because their team was in a tough group and still has a chance to qualify depending on Sunday’s results. The players must fight for the badge to maintain the club’s stature,” KI was quoted by Mwanaspoti.
