Yanga’s sponsor, GSM, will be present in Zanzibar on Sunday when the team faces JS Kabylie in their final CAF Champions League group stage match.
Yanga must win the sixth-round Group B fixture to keep their hopes of reaching the quarter-finals alive, depending also on the outcome of the match between Al Ahly and AS FAR.
Yanga’s Head of Information and Communications, Ali Kamwe, revealed that GSM will stand shoulder to shoulder with the team in this decisive encounter, where Yanga needs only one result — a victory.
“Wananchi and our investor GSM will be at the New Amaan Complex on Sunday as we QUALIFY IN STYLE for the CAF Champions League quarter-finals,” Kamwe wrote on his social media page.
Reports indicate that GSM has tabled a significant financial incentive for the players should they reach the quarter-finals, with internal sources suggesting that approximately Tsh 500 million has been set aside as a bonus if the team secures qualification.
