Young Africans SC (Yanga) has formed a special committee tasked with overseeing and coordinating the construction of its Kaunda Stadium, as part of the club’s broader strategy to strengthen infrastructure and achieve financial self-reliance.
The committee will be chaired by Eng. Hersi, with its members comprising all members of the Yanga SC Executive Committee, alongside Alex Mgongolwa and Ivan Tarimo. The committee has been entrusted with handling all key matters related to this major strategic project for the club.
One of the committee’s initial responsibilities will be to meet with GSM Tanzania Limited to discuss the framework of cooperation in the construction of the stadium. During this meeting, the two parties are expected to deliberate on the legal and commercial arrangements that will govern the implementation of the project.
Issues to be discussed include the duration for which the stadium will be under the management or ownership of GSM Tanzania Limited, the benefits that Yanga SC will gain, as well as how GSM will benefit from the stadium construction agreement.
The leadership of Yanga SC has stated that the construction of the stadium is a long-term project aimed at boosting the club’s revenue, improving sporting facilities, and providing better services to its fans. Kaunda Stadium is expected to be one of the largest development projects ever undertaken by the club.
