Following their emphatic 6–0 victory over Mashujaa FC in yesterday’s league match, Yanga have no time to rest as the squad returns to training today to finalize preparations ahead of their trip to Egypt.
In the early hours of tomorrow, Wednesday January 21, Yanga will depart the country for Egypt in readiness for their CAF Champions League match against Al Ahly.
The Group B third-round fixture will be played on Friday, January 23, in the city of Alexandria at the Borg El Arab Stadium.
Hosts Al Ahly have chosen to stage the match at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria, which is approximately a four-hour journey from Cairo by train or bus.
Yanga head coach Pedro Goncalves has said his team is well prepared to secure a positive result against Al Ahly, despite acknowledging that it will be a tough encounter.
Both Al Ahly and Yanga have collected four points in Group B after recording one win and one draw each.
The two sides will face off in the first 90 minutes in Egypt before meeting again next week in Zanzibar.
