After lifting the Mapinduzi Cup, Yanga’s squad has returned to training to prepare for their upcoming matches in the NBC Premier League and the CAF Champions League.
According to the fixture list, Wananchi will face Mashujaa FC in an NBC Premier League match on Monday, January 19, to be played at the KMC Complex.
Following that encounter, Yanga will have one day of training before flying out on Wednesday, January 21, to Egypt in preparation for their CAF Champions League match against Al Ahly.
The Group B third-round match will be played on Friday, January 23, in Cairo.
After exiting at the group stage last season, Yanga are determined to go beyond that phase this time and secure a place in the quarterfinals.
The upcoming two matches against Al Ahly could put Yanga in a strong position to achieve that objective.
Al Ahly currently top Group B with four points, level with Yanga but ahead on goal difference.
