In the 2025/26 season, Maxi Nzengeli has continued to do justice to his talent, most recently claiming the Player of the Tournament award at the Mapinduzi Cup.
Maxi earned the accolade after an outstanding tournament in which Yanga emerged champions, winning 5–4 on penalties against Azam FC following 120 minutes of goalless action.
Yanga head coach Pedro Gonçalves is currently deploying Maxi in a deeper midfield role, and since the Congolese player’s responsibilities were adjusted, he has looked even more impressive.
Maxi is a true team player, and the individual recognition he receives is a result of the hard work he puts in while fighting for Yanga’s success.
