Yanga continued their trophy haul yesterday, registering their seventh title within a span of two seasons.
This followed a 5–4 penalty shootout victory over Azam FC in the Mapinduzi Cup final, a match that lasted 120 minutes and ended in a goalless draw.
The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, His Excellency Dr. Hussein Mwinyi, presented the trophy to Wananchi after the match, which was played at the newly inaugurated Gombani Stadium in Pemba.
