After weeks of speculation, Yanga supporters are set to receive a Mapinduzi Day gift today from their club president, Engineer Hersi Said.
At around 11:00 p.m., Yanga will unveil the signing of another star player who is joining the Tanzanian Mainland football champions during this transfer window.
Information from within the Yanga leadership has confirmed that two foreign players have completed their signings and are only awaiting official unveiling.
They are Angolan international striker Laurindo Aurélio “Depú” and attacking midfielder Allan Okello from Vipers FC of Uganda.
However, the most highly anticipated unveiling is likely to be that of Okello, who arrived in the country today, Monday, from Uganda.
Hersi personally traveled to Uganda to finalize Okello’s transfer, and it is reported that the player has been handed a two-and-a-half-year contract.
