Despite Zimbabwe losing their opening AFCON 2025 match 2–1 to Egypt, Yanga striker Prince Dube scored Zimbabwe’s only goal in the game, becoming the first player from the Tanzania league to find the net in the tournament.
It can be said that Dube has been reborn, as he continues his fine goal-scoring form by netting his fourth goal in the last five matches.
Earlier yesterday, Mali were held to a 1–1 draw by Zambia, with goalkeeper Djigui Diarra between the posts.
Today, Tanzania’s national team, Taifa Stars, will take to the pitch to face Nigeria in a match scheduled to kick off at 2:30 AM.
