Yanga striker Andy Boyeli has made a slow start to life with the Wananchi, and there is a possibility he could be sent back to his South African club, Sekhukhune United, it has been learned.
Yanga signed Boyeli on a season-long loan with high expectations that he would add firepower to an attacking line that last season was led by Prince Dube, Clement Mzize, and Kennedy Musonda.
However, things have not gone according to plan so far, as he has struggled to secure a regular place in the starting lineup.
Boyeli has scored two goals in the NBC Premier League, both of them coming in a match against KMC.
He has yet to convince Yanga’s technical bench, which has continued to rely on Zimbabwean striker Prince Dube, while Mzize is steadily regaining form following knee surgery.
Yanga are already in the process of searching for another foreign striker, a move that has put Boyeli’s future at the club in doubt.
Angolan forward Laurindo Dilson Maria Aurélio, popularly known as “Depu,” has been mentioned as a recommendation by head coach Pedro Gonçalves. The four-time consecutive Tanzanian mainland champions have also been linked with a move for Stade Malien striker Taddeus Nkeng Fomakwang of Cameroon.
The mid-season transfer window will open on January 1, 2026, and Yanga fans may expect to see new faces added to the attacking department.
