Yanga midfielder Mudathir Yahya is not among the players who traveled with the Tanzania national team, 'Taifa Stars', to Egypt for their AFCON 2025 preparations ahead of the tournament set to begin at the end of this month in Morocco.
Mudathir was initially included in the provisional squad; however, his name was dropped due to an injury setback.
Despite featuring for Yanga in recent matches, Mudathir has been playing through pain and may require knee surgery.
Yanga players who made the final squad traveling to Egypt include Mohamed Hussein, Bakari Mwamnyeto, Dickson Job, and Ibrahim Bacca.
Tanzania has been placed in Group C alongside Nigeria, Tunisia, and Uganda. Their opening match will be on December 23 against Nigeria at 8:30 PM.
