The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Mauritian referee Ahmad Imtehaz Heeralall to officiate the first CAF Champions League group-stage match between Yanga and AS FAR, scheduled for Saturday, November 22 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
This will not be the first time the referee handles matches involving Yanga or AS FAR, as he has previously officiated two Yanga games and one AS FAR match.
At club level, on July 29, 2018 in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage, he officiated a match at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium where Yanga lost 3–2 to Kenya’s Gor Mahia.
In the 2024–2025 season, he officiated a match in which Yanga defeated TP Mazembe 3–1 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, a CAF Champions League group-stage fixture played on January 4, 2025.
In the one match he officiated involving AS FAR Rabat, the Moroccan club lost 2–0 to USM Alger in the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup during the 2022–2023 season.
The referee has officiated 49 matches across various competitions, including club and national team friendlies under CAF and the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).
