Yesterday was a special day for Yanga striker Andy Boyeli, as he opened his goal account in the Premier League match against KMC.
Boyeli, who came on in the second half to replace Prince Dube—who is still struggling to find his form—didn’t take long to make an impact. He scored his first goal from the penalty spot after being fouled inside the box.
As the match neared its end, Boyeli netted his second goal, sealing Yanga’s emphatic 4–1 victory and helping the team rise to the top of the league standings for the first time this season.
As is tradition among Yanga fans at the KMC Complex, Boyeli was warmly celebrated after the match, with supporters showering him with cash gifts.
“I’m proud of the Yanga fans. You know, I’ve been working very hard since pre-season, and today I got the chance to score— their support really motivated me,” he said.
“I dedicate these goals to the fans and thank them so much for their support. I just want to tell them the season has only just begun, and we players will keep fighting to continue giving them joy,” Boyeli added.
