The journey toward the 2025/26 CAF Champions League quarter-finals officially begins at the end of this month, with Tanzania Mainland champions Yanga—placed in Group B—starting their campaign at home.
In the group-stage draw held yesterday in South Africa, Yanga were drawn in Group B alongside record champions Al Ahly, AS FAR, and JS Kabylie.
It will not be an easy campaign for Wananchi against North African opposition, but this is the Champions League—there are no underdogs here.
Yanga will open their campaign against AS FAR between November 21–23 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, before traveling to Algeria to face JS Kabylie between November 28–30.
Only two group matches will be played this year before the competition pauses to accommodate the FIFA and CAF calendars, with the remaining fixtures resuming after January 2025.
To strengthen their chances of reaching the quarter-finals, Yanga must ensure they collect all nine home points and secure at least three more on the road.
