It was only a matter of time — Portuguese tactician Pedro Gonçalves has been unveiled as Yanga’s new head coach, replacing Romain Folz.
The Yanga management chose to wait for the 90 minutes of their CAF Champions League match against Silver Strikers to end — a match Yanga won 2–0 to reach the group stage — before making the announcement.
Gonçalves landed in Dar es Salaam earlier in the afternoon and was present at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium to witness the game.
His first assignment will be to restore Yanga’s entertaining brand of football, which many fans believe was at risk under Folz.
Welcome to Jangwani, Gonçalves.
