Yanga stars have continued to urge fans to turn out in large numbers at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium for the CAF Champions League group stage qualifying match against Silver Strikers.
The team has camped in Avic Town as preparations continue with only two days left before the match.
Yanga assistant captain Dickson Job said the players are ready and would like to see the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium filled with the club’s yellow and green colours on Saturday.
“We sincerely thank our leaders for accepting the fans’ proposal to make this match free entry.”
“I would like to ask Wananchi — your request has been granted and now we ask you in return to help us fill the stadium on Saturday because this is a very big and very important match for us.”
“As players we are preparing well to make sure we get the win. Wananchi, this is the match that takes us to the group stage,” Job said.
Yanga needs the presence of 60,000 fans on Saturday to boost the players’ morale and secure the crucial result that will send the Citizens into the group stage.
