Acting Yanga head coach Patrick Mabedi says his mission is to ensure the Tanzanian champions secure victory against Silver Strikers on Saturday and qualify for the CAF Champions League group stage.
After losing the first leg, Yanga must overturn the deficit at home, needing at least a 2β0 win in front of the 60,000 supporters expected to fill Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Saturday.
Mabedi, who was given temporary charge while the club continues its search for a new head coach, said they are preparing thoroughly β including addressing the issues that led to their defeat in the first leg.
He emphasized that the return leg will be even more important since they will play at home, with the goal being to advance to the group stage of the CAF competitions.
βWe have 90 crucial minutes at home, fans should come in large numbers to support us. We have had time to prepare and make key corrections based on what happened in the first match.β
βWe will return to the pitch with energy, morale and hunger to advance β the chance to do so is in our own hands,β said the Malawian coach.
