Yanga’s Media and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, says the fate of qualifying for the CAF Champions League group stage against Silver Strikers lies in the hands of the “Wananchi” themselves.
On Saturday, October 25, Yanga will host Silver Strikers in the return leg at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium after losing the first leg 1–0 in Malawi.
Kamwe said the players are ready at 100% and the task for the fans is to turn up in large numbers to fill Mkapa Stadium and boost the players’ motivation and morale.
Kamwe stated that if the players give 100%, Yanga will win and progress to the group stage.
“Ahead of the match against Silver Strikers, the confidence and morale of the players is our weapon at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, and let me assure you the players are ready at 100%.”
“If Duke Abuya decides today that we are qualifying, if Mudathir, Maxi and Pacôme decide — that Uchizi boy you will not hear or talk about him for even a minute,” Kamwe boasted.
Yanga entered camp yesterday to prepare for the match under Acting Head Coach Patrick Mabedi.
