Yanga SC has accepted a request from its members and supporters for the match against Silver Strikers to be free of charge, to allow fans to turn out in large numbers and carry the team to the group stage.
After the club’s leadership met earlier today, they agreed to remove gate fees for the match against Silver Strikers.
Entry fees have been removed for all stands except VIP A and VIP B, which have been reserved for invited guests and special dignitaries.
“This was a request brought forward by our members and supporters, and it was not easy for the leadership to approve.”
“But due to the uniqueness of the situation, leaders have considered the broader interests of the club and the fact that this match is to take Yanga to the group stage.”
“Since members and supporters made this request, we now have the responsibility to fill Benjamin Mkapa Stadium — we are going to create unmatched excitement and celebrations at Benjamin Mkapa. We are going to push our team to the group stage.”
“Let me emphasize — this request was made by Yanga fans to Yanga leaders, so we caution those who are not Yanga fans from coming to create chaos or cause harm to our team.”
“We will not stop any supporter from entering the stadium, but we will not tolerate anyone who comes with a different agenda,” said Kamwe.
Kamwe stated that Silver Strikers will arrive in the country on Thursday at 8:30 p.m., and they will conduct their final training session on Friday.
